Hire Agreement and Safety Policy

1. Ownership & Responsibility

• All equipment on hire or loan remains the property of Ballyhaunis Bouncy Castles or their suppliers.

• All equipment is used entirely at the Hiree’s (customer’s) own risk, whether staffed or self-operated.

• We take every reasonable step to ensure safety, but by hiring and using our inflatables, you accept full responsibility for any accidents or injuries that may occur.

• Ballyhaunis Bouncy Castles accepts no liability for any injury or loss sustained during the use of the hired equipment. Use of equipment is entirely at the Hiree’s own risk.

2. Delivery & Inspection

• On delivery and after full installation, the Hiree must inspect the equipment and report any visible faults immediately.

• Any visible damage not reported at the time of delivery will be considered the Hiree’s responsibility, unless due to a fault or negligence on our part.

• Once installed, equipment must not be moved, altered, or used for any purpose other than intended.

• Delivery and collection times will be arranged in advance, but may vary slightly due to traffic or delivery routes. We aim to provide a 1-hour window.

3. Site Access & Safety Preparation

Hirees must ensure that:

• a. Clear access is available at the agreed delivery time.

• b. The site is free of hazards or obstacles.

• c. All underground services (e.g. water, electric, oil pipes) are clearly marked and communicated to our staff.

• d. An authorised representative is present to sign for the delivery and receive safety instructions.

• The Hiree is responsible for ensuring the setup location is suitable for inflatable use. If ground conditions are unsafe (e.g. waterlogged, uneven), Ballyhaunis Bouncy Castles reserves the right to cancel the setup for safety reasons. In such cases, an alternative date will be offered where possible.

4. Damage, Loss & Cleanliness

• Excessive dirt, loss, or damage to equipment will be charged at full replacement or repair cost.

• Any damage or loss must be reported immediately.

5. Use of Equipment

• All equipment must be used in a safe, supervised environment and in accordance with the safety instructions provided.

• The Hiree is responsible for:

  • Providing adequate supervision at all times

  • Enforcing safety regulations

  • Ensuring the equipment is not used during high winds or heavy rain

  • Providing first aid facilities if necessary

  • Recording and reporting any accidents in writing with full details

6. Bookings & Cancellations

• Bookings are non-refundable.

• If you cannot proceed with your chosen date, you may reschedule to another available date within the same season.

7. Operating Instructions for Safe Use of Inflatables

The Hiree is responsible for enforcing the following rules:

A. Inflatables must not be used in winds over 24mph (including gusts). If in doubt, deflate and secure. B. A responsible, sober adult must supervise the inflatable at all times. C. Control and limit the number of users. D. Do not allow overcrowding. Follow height and capacity labels. E. Separate smaller children from larger ones. F. No sharp objects, jewellery, glasses, or footwear (except socks). G. No food, drink, gum, or lollipops. H. No climbing or hanging on walls or the front step. I. No somersaults, rough play, or wrestling. J. No smoking or barbecues near the unit. K. Children must not operate or inflate/deflate the unit. L. Maintain a 2m clear space around the inflatable. M. Do not use inflatables when wet or during rain unless a cover is fitted. N. If rain is heavy, switch off and towel dry the inflatable later. O. Only use the inflatable for its intended age group — no adults unless specifically permitted.

8. Slides (if applicable)

• No climbing up the slide.

• Only one user at a time on the slide.

• All users must go down feet first, arms in.

9. Blower Safety

• If the blower stops:

  • Evacuate the unit immediately.

  • Check for disconnected tubes or blocked air intakes.

  • Restart the blower after 1–2 minutes. If it does not restart, contact us.

10. Robotic Lawnmowers

• Robotic lawnmowers must be turned off during hire. They can damage inflatables and cause accidents.

11. Photo & Social Media Use

• Ballyhaunis Bouncy Castles may occasionally take photos of setup locations for social media or marketing purposes.

• No images of children will be used without express permission.

12. Safety Summary

Strictly Prohibited:

• Shoes

• Glasses

• Jewellery

• Phones

• Food or drink

• Party poppers or silly string

• Animals

• Sharp objects

By accepting this agreement and by making a booking online, the Hiree confirms they understand and agree to follow all safety rules and conditions of hire from Ballyhaunis Bouncy Castles.
